About Caribbean Paradise
Caribbean Paradise is a fast food in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 144 S Pennsylvania Ave, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, which places it among the local businesses of Wilkes-Barre that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under grocery store, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Wilkes-Barre is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Wilkes-Barre is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This was one of the most disappointing Jamaican meals Iβve had. The curry chicken roti tasted terrible, the curry goat roti had an unpleasant flavor, and the plantains were overly ripe and mushy. Nothing tasted fresh or well-prepared. As someone familiar with Jamaican cuisine, I found the food far below expectations. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

As someone who is Jamaican, I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered the curry chicken roti, and the taste was very unpleasant. The curry flavor seemed off, and the overall dish was difficult to eat and did not resemble the authentic Jamaican flavors I expected. The brown stew chicken and oxtail also had an overly sweet taste that was nothing like traditional Jamaican cooking. The rice and peas tasted like pure sugar, and even the collard greens and cabbage were excessively sweet. The seasoning and balance of flavors were completely off. The presentation of the food in the takeout containers was equally disappointing. The meals looked carelessly thrown together, which made the overall experience even worse. To make matters worse, the staff were unprofessional and unfriendly. Instead of engaging with customers, they appeared more interested in being on their phones.

In the mood for Carribean food, co-workers and I gave this place a play for the first time. Coming from a big city its all about the smell and flavor, unfortunately this place missed the mark. Ordered oxtail with beans & rice and it was terrible, no flavor whatsoever. Taste of sweet like ketchup was added more than anything else. Sorry to disappoint but won't ordering here again. Yo Rocky

Good food, and good quantity, at really decent prices. I really wish I lived closer to supporting this business. There is NO inside seating. If your ordering more than 1-2 dishes, I would advise calling ahead to place the order as they are a small operation. I really enjoyed the food. Ordered the Medium Jerk Chicken with rice and peas (beans), greens and jerk sauce over it all! π€€ very tasty They also have some unique import food and drink items on the shelves inside. See the picture of the menu for items available as of this review (Feb 2025)

I was in the mood for Jamaican food and ordered from this restaurant. I called because I couldn't find it. They relocated nearby. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and ordered the curry chicken and rice and peas large. I also got the chicken patty. I paid and left. The patty was super delicious! The rice and peas was good as well. All in all I had a good experience.
